Nicky ran along side him and when they got to Nancy they saw it was worse than they thought, The tree limb was huge they had to figure out a way to free her .

"You lift that side with your antlers and I will lift this side with mine." Kaveck said. He didn't know if it would work; it was a big tree limb.

Nicky tried to lift as much as he could then they got the tree limb off of her and got her free but the fire was quickly approaching .

"RUN!!!" Kaveck screamed.

They both dashed trying to carry Nancy and the fire was getting closer and closer ! Then they finally made it to the blue herd and the lake but the fire was still coming . Nicky yelled " Everyone get into the lake and lay down ! "

Sinoke met up with Kaveck again and ran in the lake after making sure the does and fawns were in.

The fire was blazing hot and started to go around the lake , Nicky was hoping that they had rescued everyone and he was also afraid to see the damage from the fire.

Sinoke didn't even want to open her eyes to see what the was destroying. She knew the herds would have a hard summer, fall, and winter even though it was still spring.

After the fire had passed Nicky stood up and looked around . He started to cry heart broken that their homes had been destroid, He knew that they would all have to find a new place to live for now until the plants grew back.

"Okay everybody, we will have to stick together. We will have to join herds or else we will get eaten or starve to death. First of all we should look for any other survivors." Sinoke said taking the lead to look for other deer.
