what do y’all recommend for defeathering larger birds like brahmas? All the defeathering machines I see are for 2-3 lb birds.
 
Does it say that on the Yardbird plucker? It looks big enough to do any size chicken. You can get big pluckers, all the way up to turkey size. The bigger they are, the more they cost though, naturally.
 
Large pot, 5 gallon plus capacity. Bring water to 155 F. Dunk, swish the bird around and pull the bird out. Repeat until the largest wing or a tail feather pulls with no effort whatsoever. Can take many a dunks to get there but don't start plucking until they are ready. Once ready you can pluck the bird clean in two minutes.
 
I would say do it by hand. Dunk the chicken into boiling water for 5-7 seconds and the pluck the feathers in the direction they grow.
