Deficiency/deformed duckling?

Well here we go again! This poor little guy was dragging himself around outside (think he was predator attacked) and his (wild) mom was uninterested. He has several punctures and a broken leg, so he got the world's tiniest cast.

He's currently in a separate brooder so the bigger rescues don't hurt him. Hopefully he'll bounce back and he can join them!

Poor baby. Where are you finding all these little ones?
Such a good job did you do the wrapping?
Got B complex or some other form of niacin to add to his feed or should I say their feed. :)
There's about 3-4 moms currently that hatched nests all over the neighborhood. Lots of babies. One has 13! Oddly enough the ones around here don't seem to be very good mothers. They aren't very protective and seem pretty uninterested.

I apologize I didn't see this response earlier! I likely won't, but since they're invasive here they can't be released. I'll find a good home for them.
Your doing a great job, @RosemaryDuck

While you cannot release muscovy back into the wild, you might release muscovy rescues on private ponds that are completely surrounded by private land, with the landowner permission.

I rescue and rehome ducks in NE Florida. My biggest problems are not feral muscovy but dumped pekin drakes. I do have 2 muscovy drakes that were rescued as babies in July last year. One, I hand raised and couldn't find ducky friends for him until he was 7 weeks old. By then he was following me around house and garden and completely unsuited to releasing back onto the pond he was rescued near. The other was also rescued and came to me from a local rehabber as a ducky friend for my rescue. I didn't ask why he couldn't be released but probably because he wasn't part of a group that could be released together.

New little guy seems to be more lively today. Using his tiny cast to balance himself and get around. Hoping he'll regain the use of the leg once it's healed, but so far he isn't gripping or moving the foot on that leg at all.

Getting vitamins & supplements as well!
