I am doing an educational display for my area at fair on heritage breeds of poultry. So what is the exact definition of a heritage breed? I can't seem to find the exact definition anywhere. This what I plan to put on the display:

At the top: Heritage Breeds of Poultry
What is a Heritage breed:
Then I think I will put a picture 2 or 3 heritage breeds of each type of poultry.
What do you think?

Thanks I didn't see that on ALBC! Do you think I should do heritage breeds of chickens or heritage breeds of poultry? I am kinda thinking that chickens would be better but not sure?

This is what I put:
A heritage breed must:
1. Have been recognized by the American Poultry Association before the mid-20th century.
2. Heritage breed chickens must be reproduced through natural mating.
3. Have the ability to live a long life and thrive on a pasture-based outdoor production system. Breeding hens should be productive for 5-7 years and roosters for 3-5 years
4. They must have a moderate to slow growth rate, and reach an appropriate market weight in no less than 16 weeks.
It is a little summarized, but last year at fair I did my display on Chicken combs and was docked points because it was too lengthy/wordy.
