We have been raising small flocks for 6 years and this is our first beak issue. One of our 9 week old pullets (a Salmon Faverolle) has a pretty severe beak problem... not cross beak, but the top beak curves down while the bottom is straight, but much longer. She can’t close the beak and had difficulty eating. Has anyone had this issue? Should we try trimming the top beak, or trim the bottom back so it is shorter. Can you even trim the bottom successfully?? Please help. I feel so bad for her, such a sweet little girl.

Definitely trim something, maybe a bit of both. If she's starving and the beak issue is too severe, it's euthanasia time.
Trim a bit off, look at it, and trim a bit more. See if you can do enough to help. Then, deep feed and water dishes, maybe a wet mash for feeding.
This problem will take a lifetime of care, most likely, so consider your options here.
Mary
