I have a silkie with the same problem ,more severe than your pic. how do u humanely euthanize a chicken. I know the time will come and will have to put her down.

A crossed/scissor beak IS not a death sentence,with slight moderations to living environment,crossed beak birds live long and happy lives. Here is a link to better understand this condition.

am not planning on putting chicken down unless it is absolutely necessary, right know she gets her mesh feed everyday and is holding her own.as long as she is doing well she can free range with the rest. she gets mesh in morn. and afternoon.

We just lost one of our 3-1/2 week old chicks because of this deformity! So sad we loved her! Her name was donut because she ran around in circles like crazy! It was so funny!

hello, I just noticed my 2 wk old EE has this.So far she is doing great and is actually the biggest of my 6 chicks. Great info . Everyone on BYC is great, i can always find a answer to anything .
