Degloved chick (Nasty picture)

I found a chick this morning degloved under wing can I use antibiotic cream on it? What else should I do? I looked around and can’t find any real info so here I am.

I'd rinse it real well with saline or betadine tea (dilute betadine with saline), maybe clip away nearby feathers and then antibiotic ointment. You want to keep it clean and moist, then watch it so that you can clean up any upcoming infection. Agreed. Clean it up and trim back any feathers and hanging skin. Then SUGAR!!! A little oil on the surrounding feathers is helpful so you don't have one giant sugar glob but sugar, sugar, sugar. How much ever will stick to the wound. If you can wrap some gauze over it great but realistically you're dealing with a rambunctious chick. The wing itself should help protect it some.

Just a heads up, beware of saline solution that has "hurt free" on it. I was using a Bandaide brand Hurt Free wash (the only saline I could find at Walmart that day :/ ), my chick was ok but it did have 2% Lidocaine, which is highly toxic to birds. Stay AWAY from Benzocaine, which will kill birds, especially babies, from what I've read.
And the sugar treatment works wonders. Load her up with neosporin, then dump on the sugar; if she's picking at it you can gauze it and cover the gauze with some pick-no-more lotion or neutral/skin colored adhesive wrap.

Saline solution is easy to find--look at the contact lens section. It's in a squirt bottle for like a dollar in the generic brand. It says saline on the label and has no other ingredients.

I have a chick with a very similar injury. How did your chick do? Any suggestions and insight on what to expect with time? I'm keeping mine in a separate box from the others, and she is so desperate to be social, so I'm curious about that aspect as well.
