deises resistent?

hey birch hatchery if you are interested in a really great layer I have stumbled across one. The local hatchery here in Idaho "Dunlaps" is selling a White Leghorn X RIR, under the name Brit Red. They are the awesomest layers I have come across! I'm getting a large to jumbo egg a day out of every hen. With double yolks on a regular basis as well. They started laying at 16 weeks. The thing I liked best about them was that they have absolutely no flightyness! The are sweet and good natured and decent foragers as well. Here's a current pic of a few of my girls.

Nice setup..... Katy.

Buckeyes didn't thrive in those coops? Very interesting.... looks to me it's not a management issue at all. I would try giving them another go around.

thanks Jeff!
Honestly I do love the Buckeye breed, but just not willing to go through that $ loss again. They're not fairing any better for the others in my area either, but I've got some crosses on the ground out of my one remaining hen so we'll see how they do over the course of the year.

Honestly I have not tracked the feed conversion of this breeding project.
I could do it for you over the next week if you would like, of course as you can see there is a LARGE roo in the pen who eats more than his fair share.
