I know it might be too early to tell but I’m a little paranoid about getting a roo in this batch because that would make the third roo in a year. Can you help me determine if they are all pullets? There’s one chick I’m worried about -Opal whose tail is slightly longer then the other two and she is slightly bigger (although not a lot) she has more black then the other two and today I thought I saw some pink to her comb. Got me nervous

If it’s too early to tell I’ll just have to wait but I’d love to know what others think since I’m not the best at this. I’m pretty sure Bettie is a girl and almost positive Lydia is but Opal I’m not sure about. Thanks in advanced!

Hold her feet between your middle and pointer finger then flip her upsidown if she struggles for more than a minute she is a he if she kinda relaxes and just hangs she is a she this has always worked for me in the past

The pink is just here crown color coming in it’s nothing to worry about also how many weeks old are they

Seriously? Would never have guessed something so simple. The littlest one that I’m almost positive is a female is the one who gets most upset over handling. I can’t wait to try that.

That momma is so cute!
Thanks! She is a total doll. She is a great momma. These were “adopted” chicks and she does so well with all babies. The second she accepted them it was like that was what her whole life was made for. I think she is a Cochin but she was just a “hatchery choice” chick.

Thx I can’t promise but about a year ago we had some babys and we try it and it worked 3girls 3boys we were mad about the boys but it has worked for us for a while

O thanks that trick should work also the colors I have had babies have color at 3 weeks also so I guess it’s just normal for some breeds

Tell me if it works
