Delaware Gang @ 5 Weeks Old (newest Pics #96/ 9 Wks Old)

Good to know. I had no idea if it was true or not. Though there have surely been advances in knowledge in the last half-century, you'd think that the new info would be published somewhere.

EDITED TO ADD: I am selling a pair from this group that I cannot use in my breeding program, so check out BST to see them! https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=171907

New pictures of some of the ones I have left. They are now 9 weeks old.
I am selling the pullet and cockerel with green marks on their heads, if you see those in the pics, but I have three cockerels left from which to make my final, very difficult decision.

Thanks! That first one, who is also in the second picture, is one of my top two. His is the best comb in the bunch. His markings should clear out and be very nice. He really stood out early on, so much so that I call him the Rockstar, LOL. I really wish I could keep two boys, but at this time, there is no way. The other frontrunner, not shown here, has the body size I really want, great markings, good personality, but the comb is just not quite perfect. The one withthe blue mark on his head in the pics is my #3 right now. It's early yet, though, at nine weeks, to really know who will be the frontrunner. My largest cockerel is about as large as a 12-week old!

Adding pictures of my largest cockerel, since I missed him in the last ones. He's huge, more like a 12 week size than a 9 week size. Though I wish his comb points were more even, it isn't bad at all, and he is one of the two top ones of the three I have to choose from for my final pick.

The Rockstar has some competition, that's for sure. It's going to be interesting to see which one outshines the other in the end.

speckled hen - - -

It has been over a year since the last pictures. Do you still have any delawares from this group?
Would you mind posting updated pictures of the 5 hens and rockstar ?

Yes, I have Isaac (formerly known as The Rockstar), Georgie and Ellie from this group. This was the second bunch of Dels I hatched. I sold Kira, who came from a different group, Phoebe from this group and Gracie, Kira and Isaac's daughter--Kira carried a double dwarf gene, so didn't want to keep her daughter, either.

The bird in post #96 was Ike's larger brother, but his comb wasn't as good and he became aggressive as he approached 15 weeks old. I had forgotten what nice yellow legs he had. I don't have current photos of Ellie and Georgie, who are getting over their molts, Lisa.
