Here are some more pics of the first pullet hatched from Neal's birds I think she is a bit small but she is still less than 30 weeks.

Here is a short journal article that tested the supposed "fast feathering" of the Delaware chicken. It might be harder to get to the fast feathering than we thought ... but I just happen to know someone with some nice Delawares, and nice New Hampshires, and a big incubator, and a big hatcher ...

Oh, @Zanna !

Interesting and its continued on page 492 which you can not find.
I guess quick feathering would be important if you are hatching all year and cold climate for the broiler industry. I have found its not important to me at this location for providing table food homestead wise. Am I missing something in my thought pattern ?

BTW I am joining Facebook as long as I have Leslie , Kim and Zanna as support group. Never to old for a new adventure I guess.

Kim and Zanna don't post that much on Facebook, but I sure go through bursts.

I think the slow feathering is annoying if you're waiting for them to feather so you can move them out of the brooder. Two more weeks of heat. For me, if the broody gets lazy I have to confine them.
