Delawares from kathyinmo

Pics
The last time I put pictures on here it was a big project. I guess I assumed that this pullet was a F-2, maybe she is not. She looks just like all these other Delaware looking chickens on this thread. She came from some hens that I had gotten from Kathy that were the BR/NH cross.

Monthly update pics of Kathy's stock. The two Dels are starting to show some reddened and larger combs..slowly but surely. Think it won't be long before we will see some laying out of those two. The two WRs will be later..they are getting huge but not showing much redness in the face. I fed the flock a little more today than usual so that I could get these Dels and WRs to the coop for food...normally they don't get a chance to dine due to the big birds, so they just go back to foraging. This time, they actually got a good bit of feed.

These pics show the birds a few days shy of 5 mo. old. Number 2 Del is in the forefront of this pic. They are walking next to one of Kathy's WRs.

Below is #1 Del eating next to Kathy's WR pullet...just look at the size these WRs are getting on them!

Number 1 Del again...

Chunky girls! Love those rich yellow legs!

Those are free ranger legs! Every bird in the flock with yellow legs, young and old, have that rich, glowing orange to their legs due to the beta carotene they are consuming each day. Their eggs show the same deep orange color and have such a mild flavor from the fermented feeds and forage that it's a gourmet experience to have breakfast.

VERY nice!! Much better coloring than my gals, especially at the tail. I like that first one for conformation as well...excellent birds Kathy made, aren't they? I can't wait to see what laying performance is like on these birds.

Sorry, there not Kathy's. Nobody posts anything on the other Delaware threads. So I like to get an opinion on how these are doing since I'm new to the Delawares.
