I agree! I'm thinking the "more nutrition" in duck eggs is solely based on the fact they are larger, with larger yolks but I could be wrong about that. Funny how people will follow any trend that comes down the pike, isn't it? I think a person could be a millionaire in this world if they only knew how to start hype for this or that thing and then supply it, which is how much money is made in this country, I'm sure.

Maybe we could start a trend of chicken poop being good for the skin and see if we can capitalize on that market?

When you get the market on it going let me know and we will start foodsaver bagging it. Looks more expensive that way.
Make sure you make the market on FF produced ONLY so the commercial guys won't capitalize on it.

I took some pictures of the 3 roosters I have. Well, I have 4 if I count the one F2 that I still have.
This is the one I have out in the layers coop with all the hens. The neighbors were burning leaves, so it was smokey, as you can tell in the pictures. I should weigh them. The F2 boy is quite large.

Wow ! that boy got a wide chest. Now is he F4 and what age ? Yes give us a weight please.
Thanks for posting.

Here are the other 2 boys living in the Bachelor's Pad.....

This one is light in coloring. I may use him with some of the darker colored girls I have (if I get back into this breeding thing). See the barred guy in there with him - that is George, my F1, his grandpa!

This one is okay, except for those wings. I have not really checked him out well...

Good Morning all! Great Pics Kathy and so glad to see you posting!!

Had a slight issue last night if any of you have some advise....... In trying to stuff one of my chosen cockerals into the sack I weigh them in somehow one of his large comb points got split in 1/2 (top down). He is huge, 10 LBS 3 OZ and I think he caught a toe nail on the comb in the process. Combs bleed unbelieveably so I brought him inside in a box and kept the blood clots that were running into his eye cleaned off and put some blood stop on the area. All looked dried this morning so I put him back out in his pen (he is in a large breeder pen all by himself so no one will pick on him). The problem is that every time he shakes his head, the split opens and begins to bleed again. I thought of taping it with surgical tape to prevent that but figured he would probably get that off. Any advise??? Poor boy, seriously looks like he has been to war :( Any thoughts on putting a few stitches in it????

Combs really do bleed a lot, and are floppy ...

Could you try super glue?

Or maybe check out info on dubbing for some ideas about how to manage bleeding in that area ... ?
