It pains me to say this because I'm a very DIY person, but ... this is definitely a project for a less ambitions time. I need to figure out too many things at once right now to be feeling super excited about building an incubator ... and I don't have anyone to help me lift/move a freezer at the moment ...
I really really wanted to build my own incubator but I'm not that handy and I didn't want to spend money on something I was afraid wouldn't work very well... so I gave in and just bought a cabinet incubator... :)

I'm going to start my very first incubation this weekend if I can get my act together and it won't cost me a cent. I'm going to try something a little unconventional and just see if it works...if nothing else it should be interesting.

I'll be setting 12 eggs....even I can't fit that many in my bra!

Nope...a little more natural than that. I don't think anyone has tried this before....well..I can't find anything online about anyone trying this nor have I ever read anywhere that someone had tried it. I love experiments like that!
ha! brabator!! You going to use a broody hen?!?! :)

Well you have my interest peeked as to what you are going to try! :)

When I get it set up I'll either do pics or video and show the setup and explain what I'm doing. Then we'll just have to wait on the results. That's the real clincher as to the effectiveness of this method. I'm using pullet eggs and a not too vigorous male, so I don't even know if these eggs will be viable but they are perfect to practice on.
