My chicks are five days old. I thought I had the breeds determined, but the brown marks on the wings of the little yellow chicks had me reconsidering. I was certain they were buff orpingtons until just a few minutes ago. They are delawares! (right??

They appear from the picture to be too yellow for Delaware chicks.
Here is a pic of one of our 4 day old Delawares

Delaware chicks should be nearly white with very little black spots. As the wing feathers start to develop there will be a bit of black on them. The head can be all white or have a few black marks depending on how much smut they will feather out with. This one grew up to be quite smutty.

From my vague memory, my hatchery Delaware rooster started all yellow. Not white at all. And no spots at all either until he started feathering out. So I say there is a chance it could be a Delaware if its a hatchery chick.
