Delivery Confirmation....Rant.

OK here is the problem. Last year the post office started contracting with Fedex to handle packages at airports on weekends, and loaded to Fedex flights. Fedex does not accept hatching eggs so the packages are returned to the hub with a note from a Fedex employee return to sender. The post office sorting hub then holds the package or sends it back, they have held mine for over a week before again shipping them to the correct hub. The post office is a mess right now, funds to the postal service have been cut, and they have laid off employees.

Make sure you only ship on Monday, or request that the shipment be handed over to the PO on a Monday. Even this is not a guarantee, I have a package stuck in Raleigh that was handed over to the Olivia PO on Monday morning. It should have never gone to Raleigh it destination was CA. I am getting very frustrated and have pulled all my listings and will only sell hatching eggs within the state now. The only thing you can try is not marking the packages hatching eggs or anything similar.

Can't say for sure but one thing you can do to assist shipping is Print you mailing label , do not write them out. I know many ship in the priority boxes provided by the po and that's good. Double check addresses and zips. If you use a non postal box, cross out all writing and bar codes. Use a black marker, black them out don't just run a line through them. Capital letters. Don't think by using a smaller box you are saving lots of money your not. Flat rate boxes only works for heavy items not light ones. Hope some of this helps.

Yeah, I've had to happened before as a buyer and a seller. It's rather frustrating especially when a buyer is waiting on the other end and I know that they were shipped. I remember when that DC was called a tracking number, but it is no longer so. They are only required to scan it when it is accepted at the first PO and when it is delivered. I just pay the extra just for the extra security in case a buyer wants to claim that I never sent them and me knowing that I did. Sometimes it helps back up what I say.

I would say that I hope they arrive soon, but at this point they probably won't be much good.

Thats how I do it.

Now that I know my boxes weigh the same, I will start using this as well.

I have had some DC #'s that tracked the package all the way and I've had some that only show ship date and delivery date. Either way, it's worth the $0.75 to me!!

Because you can. Delivery confirmation means they confirm Delivery, Tracking is tracking. They are two separate things. You can get tracking for Express, Global Express Guaranteed, Express Mail International, Priority Mail International, and Priority mail.
The tracking they do is not all that good if it really exists at all though. It is not like UPS or Fed Ex tracking.
Print you postage from Pay Pal and you get tracking and confirmation for free.

I always demand my money back when they don't do their jobs. Had a heck of a time with the Charlotte, NC P.O. a couple years ago. Once a month, they would neglect to scan at the delivery point. I got my $$ back every time.
Monday, I sent eggs to Alaska. Nothing on the USPS site, not even the Acceptance as of this afternoon. Del Conf only tells you the last place the pkg was, if someone bothered to scan it.

Speckled I am no pins and needles with mine. My customer is newbie on ebay who has never left feedback before. I am not worried about the cost of shipping or the eggs but the negative and dings on my DSR I am surely going to get from this. I used to get lucky with my shipments that I dropped on Fri and Sat, and then I had a package lost until the carrier delivered it back to me with a note from Fedex taped to box return to sender live shipments not accepted. It has happened to me recently with a shipment to Wy that was shipped on a Tue, the package got held up for almost 2 weeks.
