Delmarva 2014 Poultry Show! Who's in?!

I go every year - one of my favorite shows! Staying at the host hotel this year. I always include a visit to the great western wear shop across the road, and a visit to the Casino Buffet! I'll be showing LF Faverolles. I also will have two Buff Orpington hens for sale - older, so don't rely on too many eggs, although they are still laying - and BQ Langshan pullet. Have to make room for new chicks.

How old are the buff orpington hens? And do you have a rooster to go with them?

Still need to make my reservations, but we'll be there and with some Olive Egger Chicks for sale. Getting Eggcited!!!

you just breed a blue egg layer to a brown egg layer (preferably dark brown), I have found that it doesn't matter which is the cock and which is the hen. I use a Black Copper Marans cock over Amauracana hens. Then I breed those chicks back to the Black Copper Marans cock and set the darkest green eggs I have to continue darkening the green egg shell color. I've been having good results, but every once in a while there's one that lays brown.

Alright thank you! And do you the difference between ameracauna and araucana?

I don't keep Auracauna, and don't know much about them, off the top of my head, they are rump less and lay a blue egg...that's all I got.

It will be my first time there. Does anyone know if someone will be bringing Dominique pullets? Would really like to get a couple to add to my flock.
