Denagard, Tylan and MG update

I am dealing with what sounds like the same thing. I've been successful with Dylan 200 injections for those with the respiratory infections, even a couple that had swollen eyes. I ordered Denagard and it just arrived. Before I start treating them as a preventative (all are currently healthy) I have a question. Do you know if it's safe to eat the eggs when the chickens are on Denagard?

Brand new chicken keeper here...only 6 months so far. I have 5 pullets, 4 laying and I purchased 3 new pullets this past weekend. After I got the new girls home, I noticed they all had runny noses. They've been isolated in my run away from my original girls and I've got them on antibiotic in their water. It was recommended to me by Tractor Supply. So my question here in this thread is Denagard a preventative to MG? Should I be giving that to my 5 existing pullets while I'm medicating the new girls and then do it every 4 weeks thereafter? Sorry, I'm just so new to all this and freaked out about having brought these sick babies home to my healthy girls!

If your waterer holds 20 litres use 20 milliliters (4 tsps) of the liquid 12.5% Denagard. If its 30 L use 30 mL of Denagard (6 tsp or 2 tbsp). 1 tsp is 5 mL and 1 tbsp is 15 mL (sorry I am Canadian!). Then give that to them as the only source to drink from for 2 days. At this dosage they should have no problems drinking it at all (I believe people were dosing at too high a concentration which is why they wouldn't drink). I just put it in my calendar every 4 weeks to give it to them. Like every 4th Saturday and Sunday is Denagard day.

Thank you SO much for stating in millilitres and litres. I am in Europe where we use ml and litres and it is really difficult trying to convert gallons and pints and fluid ounces all the time

Had a similar experience to you.Put my new girls in quarantine immediately on returning home with them, then that afternoon the sneezing started. I used Tylan antibiotic for 5 days and got a little improvement. At least that terrible "death rattle" breathing was cured, but the coughs and sneezes are still there, albeit slightly improved. Gave another 5 day course of Tylan with no further improvement. Today I am starting them on denagard, after a pause of 7 days between medicines. I'll follow the instructions on the packet 1ml of 12.5%solution per 5kgs of bird, so I am treating two birds that weigh approx 5kg each = 2ml of denagard in 2 litres of water per day.

by the way - remember that when they are taking Denagard that they must not have any medicated feed against coccidiosis. Aparently the two don't mix well at all, and can even kill your birds.
