Many of my chickens have started sneezing and rattling with this odd weather we've been having. I've heard good things about Denegard and wanted to try it out but was wondering whether it would be safe for ducks or not. My chickens and ducks all live together so it is impossible to medicate water for the chickens without the ducks drinking out of it too. Thanks!

In this article below, the manufacturer says it is for use in turkeys and chickens only. I usually would not recommend treating any chickens who are not sick, and since many respiratory diseases can be caused by a virus, the antibiotic would not be helpful against a virus. If you have had mycoplasma in your flock, that is the disease it treats. Here is the article: http://www.thepoultrysite.com/focus/contents/novartis/novartis_poultry1.pdf

Thanks for the replies everyone! I went ahead and ordered denegard. I saw elsewhere online where other people had mentioned using it with ducks and having no ill effects and I've heard its the best in treating respiratory ailments in chickens.

It's fine for ducks.
