Aren't you worried about it causing liver disease too?
Yes, I'm concerned about ALL plants, herbs, etc. for my ducks. That's why I'm on here asking. Green tea is so healthy for us that I questioned might a few tiny pieces of green tea be o.k. for ducks as a treat.
At this point I'm going to assume it's not o.k.
Thanks for the question.

We're still finishing our run. If wild birds have already dropped poop in it, should I be concerned? My babies still have several weeks left in the brooder before going out there? Is there anything to spray the run with prior to putting them out there?
Temporarily relocate your birds to the garage or other structure (if you have one) and do a bleach scrub on the coop and run. Use warm water for the bleach rinse.

A very late reaction to a question. This person hasn’t been around in 2025.

But bc messages are read by others too I want to make clear that using bleach on soil is not okay. Just take away the poop and make a drainage. Bird flu vanishes in the spring when temps get higher in the sun 🌞 . Its important to expose the coop and run and your chickens /poultry to the sun as much as possible as long as it isn’t getting hot.

The flu viruses disappear over time if there are no chickens/birds in the run. In poop and water it can survive up to 2 months.
