I have a few cavities and I'm going to get them filled tomorrow at the dentist. I'm pretty nervous. Last time I got a tooth filled I could actually feel the drilling at one point. From my understanding it was because the cavity was fairly deep, but I think I've felt it other times too. My dentist uses nitrous oxide. I really hate nitrous oxide but I guess it's better than a shot. I'm so nervous! I really hate the dentist. I keep thinking that its going to hurt and that the nitrous oxide is going to be really freaky, and I'm really scared. Does anyone have any input?: :(
So scared!! :(

I had the shots only never gas, the only time I felt pain was having one tooth pulled needed an extra shot and when I was getting drilled out to prep for a crown, I "felt" kinda of a phantom pain because the nerve was either dead already or same as dead and the near by nerves where letting me know there was activity going on but not really any pain per say.

Hang in there. My daughter is deathly afraid to go to the dentist too. Just remember, it will all be over soon. If you still feel pain, let your dentist know! Don't be shy. You'll be okay.

I look forward to my dentist visits. But he is also a gun dealer and does all transactions for me at cost.

But by far my worst dental experience was when I was in Ecuador and I had a tooth start hurting. It had gone bad and I needed a root canal. A root canal in the third world? I was apprehensive but the "Root canal lady" as they called her had gone to one of the best dental colleges in South America. She did it the same way as they do here in the states. The only difference? It cost me $175.00. Here it would have been a grand.
