Please help! I think my chicken is depressed! She is a Hamburg, not very old.She had 2 brother roosters that recently died.I think my bigger rooster might've crushed them.Anyways,She looks puffed up,she drags her wings on the ground, hardly eats and drinks, and walks slowly! I've put 2 white hens about her size, but that didn't seem to help. I really want to help her,But if she doesn't cheer up,I'll have to do away with her.I don't want to kill her,But I don't want her to live a sad, lonely life.Is there ANYTHING I can do to help her??? Please help us out,she is my favorite chick and I don't want here to be sad.

Check her poop to see if there is anything unusual in it. Do her feathers appear dirty and ruffled? She might be sick. If she isnt sick, then maybe try giving her fertile eggs to sit on. This will give her something to do, and if they hatch they may make her happy. Also take her aside and hold her in your lap. But make sure she can see the rest if her flock so that she doesnt freak out. Feeding her sugar water separately and hand feeding her may make her more energetic, too. I hope that this helps!!!

She hasn't laid any eggs yet. She is probably 2 or 3 months old.But would she still sit on them? Her feathers are only dirty on the parts you clip to keep them from flying out,But dont look ruffled.I've pet her and when I do she seems to get a bit more active. What would you reccomend about me putting the white hens in with her??? I will try the things you've said and see if it helps! Thank you! -Krow
