Depressed Khaki Campbell - Not eating

Hi,
My Khaki just lost his mate to a fox that got into the yard
I brought the surviving duck into my house and that was on Thursday. He's not really eating but is drinking water. How long can he go without food??? I'm worried. Is he starving himself to death?? Im not sure what to do.

I suspect he is just in shock and will likely start eating soon.
But are you sure he isn't injured too?

I'd like @casportpony to weigh in on the feed intake and how long is safe to wait. I'd rather see the duck eating asap.
