In the Brooder
Today the female has crawled her way out of her enclosure and can't stand. Her feet are curled up in front of her and when she tries to stand she immediately falls forward. She is very lethargic, and she still refuses to eat or drink. The male is extremely defensive of her but I'm able to approach her, and where she had been spunky before, now she let me touch her head. Her beak is also very dry and chipped. Unfortunately I get a feeling she may be on her way out. I'm trying to encourage her to at least drink some water but a 40-some-odd pound turkey is hard to manipulate. Any advice is appreciated, but I think she has given up.
