1st My tom that was the alpha got dethroned. By my younger blue slate.
So far the last week and a half he stays away from the other turkeys. Roosts in with the chickens. Still eats but seems really depressed. He doesn't gobble strut or even try to fight with a new tom I just got.

Will he overcome any of this or is it time to invite him to dinner.

2nd after a storm blew down my pens I had 2 hens on a nest that went bust. They adopted a chicken chick that got in. They are good mothers but now if I let them out with the other birds they are aggresive to everything especially some poults I have in a pen near them.

Is this normal for broody hens to be aggressive?

If it is normal how long does it usually last?

It is normal for broody hens to be aggressive. The time for them to stop being broody varies from chicken to chicken. How old is your tom?

My tom is a 3 year old. He was the alpha for the last 2 springs.

The hens that are mean to everything are turkey hens

Ooooops! I feel really stupid now! I thought they were chickens!

I think you should invite your tom to the dinner table. I'm sorry that you have to, er, kill him.
