That is so cute. It either sounds like she is saying "Got water." That or else one of her springs sprung.

"Gwaaa waaaa waaa waaa waaah"

Moa is going through a molt. You know. One of THOSE molts...
Anyhow, she has always had a particular way of drinking. She will always drink quite a bit in one go, and makes a noise while doing it.
"Gwaaa waaa waaaa waaa waaah"

It makes me laugh so hard!! She's always done this. Maybe it'll be funny to you, too. You might have to turn your volume up or listen hard for her noise.
Derp makes a brief appearance too.

Moa is great!! That's the funniest chicken thing I've seen heard yet! Sounds like she's gargling. You could give Moa some extra protein (Calf Manna works) to help her grow those feathers. She must be feeling the chilly temps.

Trousers is quite good looking, very handsome. Looks like a keeper. I always like the hens that look like they're wearing bloomers, but I've never seen a roo in trousers! (Perfect name, BTW) Cochins look like a nice breed, and if a low pitched crow is common, one might work for my flock. The screechy guy I had before made me jumpy!

Will Moa allow to you to remove the keratin shealth off the feathers, or come up to you Nambroth to be scratched ?

Oh yes, nearly everyone's been having a molt, through none so explosively as Moa, so I've been giving them extra, high quality salmon meal and other meaty treats.

She's good about getting it off of her body feathers, and most of the hens let me help them with their heads.
She really likes her keel and comb to be rubbed when she is feeling a little less molt-y!
