maybe Derp gets alot of crumbs in her beard and won't allow another chicken to groom her. The crumbs in turn may attract those little four legged, pointy nosed, long tailed things that make me SCREAM. She could be sleeping and not notice. Either that or invisible space aliens.

No way for mice to get into the coop, and to get on the roost they'd have to get past 7 other chickens (Derp sleeps on the end most of the time). But thanks for the theory!

I think it makes perfect sense! Derp has a flock that she is head bird off- no matter if the flock is invisible or not!

When I read this thread I finally figured out what "derp" meant. But my definition is very different from the internet.

derpy- (adj.) The quality of being very lovable, somewhat weird, and staying optimistic through trials by acting like they aren't really happening.

Does anyone else have a similar definition?
