Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

I am glad that someone finally said it. I love Derp, the fud lady, and their stories. However, it is not an easy deal to have a special needs animal. I currently own a special needs rooster that reminds me so mcuh of Derp. I love my little goofy boy, but would not want him to breed to any of my other hens. I think that people fall in love with the idea of having their own Derp, but could not handle all the comes with owning a special needs chicken.

Sure, I can share. I also have a big show coming up in June. I've been preparing for that, trying to built garden beds, taking care of the new chicks (on top of my 5 parrots and other birds), and working 12-14 hours a day... been busy as anything!

I'll get back to Derp soon, I promise.

These are just a few snapshots. I didn't get photos of my entire showing... I had 25 framed pieces, a bunch of prints, some matted originals, and over 25 pieces of jewelry. I set up in the gallery space of a local art supply store.

This was the open studio tour weekend, with 45 artists in our county. I don't have a home studio so I was permitted to set up, here.

Most artists had a flower bouquet to welcome visitors. I had a feather bouquet.

That's a tiny painting of the Big Stink... aka Moa.

Q. Do you find that you're happier when you have a bazillion things going on or when you look around and find that there is nothing requiring your attention at the moment?

my answer - I used to always think "If I could JUST get caught up..." but recently I found myself in a funk and realized that I HAD caught up and was bored to death. I spend a weekend doing BYC, FB, HBO, BYC, FB, HBO and now I'm comfortably behind again. LOL

Since I started doing artwork full time, I regret that I've never been caught up! I always have a bazillion things going on. I do wish I could reduce it from "eleventy billion things to to" to "4 things to do" or something similar..!!

gorgeous paintings, I especially love the swans with the gold frame. This could keep you busy eleventy hours a day or more.... Hope you sell out - whoops then you'd have to work like crazy to have more.
