Ok... I have/had the best rooster ever. He protected his girls, kept them together. Was gentle didn't tear up any backs. Just an all out wonderful Roo. Last week there was a daytime coon attack on my yard by a juvenile raccoon. He did his manly duty, saved his girls. No one was lost. A lot of lost feathers, and a sprained wing, and Mr. Fluffers got the worst of it. No external injuries, but apparenlty more injured than I thought. I have been treating him for about a week with special attention, antibiotics, poutlry drench. Standing guard so he can eat. He would let the girls eat all his treats, hes that good. I thought he was going to pull through. I was hoping. I buried him this morning.
Well done Mr. Fluffers....

Thanks all. He really truly was a great roo. The first one I ever owned, and he was perfectly lovely. I miss his crow most of all, and his girls are just everywhere!
