Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

That is hilarious! Nambroth, I think I have the same BR situation as you. I have an inquisitive, smart, fast BR who is skinny and we named Six after our fastest A.T.V., just like your Chickadee. Seyda, the other one, is just like Moa. She is the boss, she doesn't like being held and protests greatly to being picked up. She makes what I call the penguin noise, which sounds like a normal anxious hen and then a choked up honk at the end. She is also the top bird and even thinks she is above treat time until I throw some of whatever I've brought down directly at her.
I believe this a picture of Seyda as a pullet, her first adventure to the screened in porch.

Before the click...

And after the click... that's Seyda right there in the middle.

I'll try to get some more recent pictures tomorrow! Sorry for hi-jacking Derp's thread!

Awww.... cute! :D

Nambroth, I know this question has probably been asked many times (but i'm to lazy to go look, lol) but what kind of camera do you use? I'm looking around at other peoples camera's, looking to buy a new one. Canon is excellent, as is Nikon, but the styles and lens are important to me as well. I'm hoping a price range under 500 dollars, I may even be able to find one on CL.

The photos from the start of this thread are taken with an old Sony Cybershot 828, I think I got it in 2002? Well, sadly it was dying, and I had been saving for a few years (eek!) and so after summer of last year the photos were taken with a Canon 60D. I probably would have purchased a less expensive camera body, but I had my heart set on a certain lens and I couldn't use it with a rebel style Canon. I don't know if this helps or not!

Man, I'd love to get one of them fancy do dad cameras. LOL, as it is now, I am stuck with a nearly worn out, lucky if the picture don't look fuzzy, Mitsuba Vision 103. This thing is seven years old. I picked up a newer camera at a yardsale, worked real nice for about 2 minutes, then just quit working all together. Good think I didn't pay much for it. But this Mitsuba was a digital toper when I bought it. Now... not so much, but it still gets decent pics of the chickens. AND if my kids stand still long enough, good pics of them too.

This is kinda off topic, but when do roosters start to mount hens? I have two birds who may be (I'm 95% percent sure about the other one) cockerels. None of them have crowed or mounted a hen. They are a little over 4 months old.
