Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

This is kinda off topic, but when do roosters start to mount hens? I have two birds who may be (I'm 95% percent sure about the other one) cockerels. None of them have crowed or mounted a hen. They are a little over 4 months old.

Given that some breeds mature faster than others, and individuals therein vary, I can tell you that Panic (an EE) started at about 5 months old. Some slow to mature breeds may not mount a hen or crow for even longer, and some mature way fast! I've read about folks with cochins that take 6, 7months or more. Gullin was ready for ladies by 4 months, but he matured fast.

I was just curious. I have a Polish cockerel, and a possible Silkie, and I guess they are slower birds.

Oh yes, silkies can be very slow... Roger was over 6 months before he got girl happy... He crowed an useful lot though. Lol. Best darn noise maker ever!

MY ee roo started at about 4 months but my silkies were much later .. maybe 6-7 months

Tooo funny....I am going to a Chicken Show next weekend, FOR SURE I am going to zero in on them SF to see if any of Derps relatives are there. [but ya know I mean that in a nice way]
