Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

Just started reading this thread, and am enjoying it very much.

Then I realize the art style and screen name look very familiar. Do we know each other from another obsession? (WS) Nice to see you again!

Her color is "bad genetics".

But honestly, the closet thing I've seen is a Mahagony fav hen.

Derp is very "smutty", referring to all the black speckling and smudgy looking color on her wings, back, etc. She also has a black beard, which I am not sure about-- I think that's undesirable (after type).


I hope that if I'm wrong someone can correct me. I am not well educated when it comes to this (which is why I won't breed).


As always, I encourage others not to make my mistake, and to consider nice quality Faverolles if you want to get into them. They are a rare breed and need all the good genetics they can get!

Black beards are favorable only in the roosters. The girls should be white and very full. Derp definitely meets the very full part.

Awesome! I made a Derperella out of polymer clay. Hopefully it looks somewhat like her, as I tried to curve the head slightly and make the beard poke into her eyes.

I used some chalk to make the beard blackish too. iPod doesn't like to make the colors show very well.

Malibu 99 what an adorable Derp = for some reason (think the eyes) made me flash on 'the Simpsons." For a fleeting moment I could see Derp as a cartoon series. At the very least you should make figures of the others in her group, Moa, Panic Pants, Chickadee, etc. I'm much younger on the inside and this really appealed to me.

I just envisioned a cartoon chicken, staring at concrete for the entire 30 minute episode. I am still laughing.
