Well, that stinks

I'm looking for LF mixes, a lot of people will buy those in my area. I love bantams, but to people around here, they are basically worthless

This thread has been a good luck charm for me . . . as soon as I first posted in it they started spitting out eggs like clockwork. I've been scrambling for dishes that use a lot of eggs to get rid of them. Good girls

I used to feel the same way about bantams. Then I got some and realized their smaller appetites and size allowed me to keep three times as many chickens and more eggs than I'll ever need. I love the hugability of large breeds, but I don't think I'll ever keep them again . . . unless I somehow become a millionaire, of course. Then I'll have every chicken uder the sun

All the ones I have for my personal pleasure are bantams, but I have enough mixed breeds of my own! Anyone will buy a mixed breed LF, for eggs or eating or whatever, so that's what I'm on the lookout for! I think it's also getting to the time when everyone is seperating their birds back, so maybe there aren't as many that have mixes now? Not of the original ones that started anyway.

Well, my hatch of my "designer eggs" I was sent is just about done. Not as great as I'd hoped as we went through a freeze right before the eggs arrived. I'll take pictures tonight of the four little fluffernutters I got. Too cute. Only one little bantam. The other three are standards.

My "designer egg" should pip soon. Out of 10, only 1 looks like it may be viable.

My swap partner did a great job of packing them, but we got an unexpected cold snap here in Montana while they were in transit. They were in the mail 8 days. My guess is they froze somewhere along the way, but not enough to crack. I cracked then open and there was no development at all and some were visibly scrambled.

On the upside though I also have 8 eggs from another member(Tfpets) and 3 of my own silkie eggs in the bator! Should have babies in the next 2 or 3 days!

Does the current offer have to be taken before another offer can be made? I've got an overabundance of "designer eggs" and would love to play in your swap!

All are large fowl of pure parentage, but running together so who knows what will pop out?
