i'd take the duck eggs just to keep it going, but i'm not sure if i can supply eggs for my test shippiing, the nov swap and this.. oh hell... i probly can do it.. well my girls can....

i'll take the duck eggs.... hubby's gonna shoot me.. lol....

i'll offer 6+ EE eggs.. some will be EE roo and EE hen, some will be same EE roo and my leghorn....

the leghorn chicks i just hatched are super healthy, and very loud.. but should make awsome layers... mom's been steady every day w/ the exception of 1 day in 2 months.. ut that wa sa late at night the night before and early the day after thing.. lol...

In one pen I have 2 black Australorps, 3 golden comets, 2 white rocks, and 3 standard cochins (black, buff, and partridge). The roosters are a white rock and a bantam partridge cochin (thinks he's hot stuff strutting around with the big kids). I never know who laid what egg.
Except for the black cochin and cochin roo, they are only 6 months old and have been laying for about 6 weeks. Would those eggs be fertile yet or should I wait a while before making any offers?

i've cheked each of the girls first egg, and figure after that if they submitted once they're probly submitting every time.. and my rooster is a cocky little guy so i'm sure he's got them all... now if i could just convince the other 4 to start laying.. and the barred rocks to grow up quicker so they can earn their keep.. lol...

I will take duck eggs I have ( will take some pics today) A pen with a super beautiful cochin bantam frizzels roo with serma frizzels hens(tiny tiny) and 2 partridge silky hens, white silky hen and a f14 showgirl hen.I just set some out of this pen in incubator and 10 out of 10 is showing some action at 7 days.So fertility is very good.I would also like other silkie eggs ( colors i do not have to add to this little project) if anyone wants to trade.

Thanks for the info on the eggs, Evonne! I've been eating the eggs but not paying attention for the signs--will certainly do so now.

Peafowl, yes. I have black shoulder, midnight black shoulder, India blue, silver pied, and opal pairs, and one lonely white male whose mate died in the summer. Had a poor hatch this year as they got a respiratory infection during breeding season; hopefully will have eggs to offer next year.

we have 4 peacocks here that were on the property when we rented it... i didn't know enough about birds when i moved in to know the ones following momma around were only a day old... or i waoulda been able to save them... the ended up dying to the heat...

they are the ones with the white and black stripey shoulders... but i think one of the males and one of the females could be considered pied because they have white feathers un their wings they you only see sometimes... the neighbor said they hatched out an all white bird once.. but it got eaten by a dog or cat at about 4-5 months old...

i'm hoping to get the eggs this season.. but they freerange between our house and the neighbors house so i have to find the nest.. lol... i've cleared the property of all old eggs though so that makes it a little easier.. lol... i'm going to try to build them a house for the winter and lure them in with food.. they love the alfafa hay and sweet feed we give the goats and donkey.. lol...

i was thinking about getting a few more hens... i want to hatch some of what i gather and sell the babies, but i might buy some hatching eggs and try my luck with the cream/buff colored ones.. or the pieds... some of them ar ssoo pretty....
