i would take them just to keep the train rolling, but dec is hard enough.. i know $12 to ship eggs isn't a lot, but that's a couple cheap toys for my boys when things are already tight...

It should not cost you $12 to ship eggs, unless you ship a lot. Don't use the flat rate boxes, they are a rip off. Go to the usps.com website and order some #4 and #7 boxes. The #4 is 7x7x6, the #7 is 12x12x8. Either would work for these swaps, considering the requirement is 6 eggs. 6 LF eggs would fit just fine in the small box, you can fit 2-3 dozen in the large. Unless your package is very very heavy AND going a very long way away, they should be $10 or less. Most of the eggs I send out are between $5 and $8.

i was wondering about that... i just grabbed the flatrate boxes becasue it was easy and i knew how much they would cost...
but i sent out 12 for both this train and the swap... i should get a couple boxes of each size just to see what i can do with them... i'll check into it.. will they send you those for free too??

They'll send you any of the boxes for free, you just have to order a minimum of 10. I've only had a few times when the flat rate price would have been better than the standard priority mail price, and those times the boxes wouldn't have been big enough. Example: Sent 3 1/2 dozen bantam eggs from KY to OR, shipping was a little over $14. The large flat rate box is 12x12x5, the large priority box is 12x12x8.

You should have them weigh the boxes when you take them to the p.o. and keep record of how much they weigh with how many eggs are in it. That way you can print your own labels, and save a little $$, on paypal or usps.com and have your carrier pick them up for you.

Dimensions for LF eggs: Approximately 6" x 6" x 2 1/2" high. The flat rate boxes are closer size-wise, but I'm sure you'd save money in the #7 priority box.
