Designing and 3D printing feeders & accessories

i would think there would be an inner lip that overhangs and prevents the food from getting raked up and out. There's probably some designs already that fit that description.

I just got a PLA filament printer and have started designing and making things
Hey there, how about making something up for me?
I saw this thing you did and realized it was almost 'just what I was looking for.'

If, that is, the walls were even and the opening were simply a flat surface.
The commercial versions are two piece affairs where the lip/flange 'trim' piece fits into the box piece and covers any gap(s) - e.g 'Trimming' things up.

The little tabs on teh example are there to mount the box to the framing studs - I don't need those in my intended application.

Nor do I actually need the physical part as there is a group in the next town over that has the 3D printing machines (by PRUSA?) and I may be able to get them to run it for me.

Is this possible?

1/4" wire mesh? maybe even 1/2" wire mesh would serve better. Now how to attach it.
Do you mean to cover the feed interface the chickens access through? I've had birds hurt their beaks on 1/2in wire trying to reach through. I don't think wire mesh is a safe material for something where birds will want to get through it.

Sorry but I don't understand what it is exactly you're wanting shape-wise...and also don't know what kind of thing I'm looking at in the product image either. I'm just designing chicken things in this thread - it sounds like this would not be chicken-realted.

No problem
