I wouldn’t think so. Eggs are widely considered to be gluten free, no matter what feed was given.

Eggs are different than milk. So I wouldn’t say it’s important to say up front, only if you are asked.

To unwrap my above statement;

Eggs aren’t made from what ducks eat. Milk is basically made from what the lactating mammal eats. What the lactating mammal eats effects the flavor and nutritional content of their milk. Eggs aren’t effected by what is eaten in quite the same way.

You could try people that feed raw diets to dogs. I use the duck eggs for my dogs 2x a week. Some dogs have allergies to chicken eggs but can have duck eggs.

I tell my vets that I have eggs, I’ve given them to the policemen and firemen in my small town ,

I’d just keep advertising, apparently people with egg allergies like me can eat duck eggs ... I haven’t tried yet

In the meantime ... scramble them up and feed them to your chickens /ducks

Gluten is wheat protein is my understanding... and has zero to do with eggs.

Milk is a problem for people with lactose intolerance not gluten.

Eggs are VERY heavily effected by what is eaten... sometimes flavor wise, often looks wise (certain things even cause green yolks), and CERTAINLY nutrition wise! I guarantee it... not all eggs are created equal.

Those are some pretty strict guidelines it sounds like you have to work by even just for your farmers market! Here in California... direct sells are fine and required to be "washed" and labeled in a specific way. Third party sells... meaning the egg will go to a secondary consumer (through prepared products or as is) is when it starts getting more complicated. I would NOT sell anything if it requires a business license or reporting to the IRS... which does become a requirement AFTER you make a certain amount of dollars... but also, once it gets to that point... my homeowners insurance wants me to carry another type of policy.

I'm just having fun... I don't a need a second income or all the trouble that comes with it. I just wanna enjoy my birds, share with neighbors/friends/family, and have some of my expenses covered.

That's a good idea, I have shared with the garbage man, mail person and so on as well.

I hadn't heard about duck eggs being allergy free... but quail eggs are indeed hypo allergenic.

I have heard of people with allergies to soy... wanting to buy from birds fed soy free diets. People with serious allergies should be asking the questions. Corn does NOT make gluten, wheat does. But I don't think gluten carries over to the egg at all.

It's fun to see the brain storming and sharing of ideas! As well as the challenges people face at different locations.

My sister is extremely allergic to chicken eggs but keeps ducks and eats the duck eggs with no problem whatsoever! As far as I understand, there is something different in duck albumen that does not cause the allergic reaction.

I understand you want to sell your eggs, and I hope you will be successful. For me, I give them away to neighbors, friends and co-workers. They have to bring me an empty egg box, then I fill it and return it to them. My ducks are pets, and this makes good use of what they produce, because I simply can't keep up.
