Destroyed Lawn

I have 7 acres of land and my chickens tore up my lawn I don't understand. I gave them treats they have toys they're not bored how do I detour them from doing this?

It's natural behavior, I don't think you can stop them from pecking and scratching the lawn. You'll have to keep them in the pen.

This is why we made a large penned in area for our chickens rather then free range them. Chickens are really destructive.

Chickens love to scratch. It helps keep their nails down and it's how they look for food. That's why they waste so much if they can step in the food
