destruction and disposal orders HELP

Most of our area vets send reminders (for vaccines) and the town hall sends the reminder for the license. I've never known anyone to live in an area where they did that though. I would say you are in a rare area. Over here they claim they don't have enough workers to even take care of the problems and neglicted animals that get reported much less send people out to check. The only way you get nailed is if your dog gets loose and gets picked up by the dog control, (and then they will only know if you claim the dog and admit you don't have the papers) or if your dog bites and the authorities have to be called. There's also if someone calls and reports your dog for some reason or turns you in. I'd say the majority of our area's dogs aren't licensed. Mine is UTD on vaccines and licensed. As well as my cat.

In our area where there are so many dog owners there's been a real push by license bureaus and vets to get pets micro-chipped. Friends of ours rescued a Jack Russell on the road a couple days ago and are going to the local shelter to see if the dog is micro-chipped to return it to its owner. She's lactating so there are puppies somewhere getting neglected.

Awe. I hate hearing about cases like that. Hope they find her home and someone didn't do something to the pups and/or drop her.

That's what we were wondering too if someone just dumped her. She was so scared dashing around not to get hit by cars on the road :-(

I'd have thrown the card away too. Unless it came registered mail, then prove I ever received it.

Illegal my arse. They pull that same crap when they mail out the questionnaires at the five year mark between census'. Those get pitched if I'm lazy. If I've had a bad day, I'll use a sharpie and write on every page what they can do with their survey and send that back. On an actual census, they get number of people in household and nothing more.

Did any of you ever get a questionare from the Fed Govt, Dept of Ag in the last few years.....several pages long with all sorts of questions like
How many acres you have in crops, what kind of crops, how much is irrigated, what kind of livestock, and how many
What kind of poultry & how many..and so on.
They sent me one, I tossed it.
Then they sent a card that said it was illegal not to fill it out & return it.
I wrote "I AM NOT A FARM" and sent it in, and so far, they have not arrested me for failing to disclose my every secret.........5$2***4/!!!***excuse my cussing~~~~~~~~

ALOT of WA BYCers recieved the same questionare...and you have to ask yourselfs, How do THEY know who has poultry & who does not ?

I KNOW they know I have poultry, as I am a NPIP participant, and report my every egg sale....

Yeah I would. I'd most likely be standing there with him. If they tested negative quarantine and further testing is an acceptable solution. Kill and destroy on a negative? That is just overreach.

Just out of curiosity- did the seller of the eggs contact Virginia for an import permit? Are they AI clean or just AI monitored? It appears from other states that they shipped to that they did not contact the states for current shipping requirements ( one article quoted a need for a test 7 days prior to shipping to Louisiana)?  Also it appears Johnskoi that you dodged a bullet because others are not so lucky and their eggs were positive. Someone suggested a follow up story if the tests are negative after quarantine, will you be so quick to get the news out there if you have a positive? The USDA does not use NPIP to track who might have been exposed and they do not automatically kill every bird in an area with a case. They go door to door and tell people within a 6km radius that they are quarantined. They do kill every bird on a farm that has a positive, if they didn't the birds would be dead within days. Given the huge economic risk I can understand them wanting to kill everything before there is a positive.  Would everyone be so happy for Johnskoi if you were his neighbor? Let's look at the bigger picture here.

We just had that mid census census last week. They actually came to the house because we ignored the letters. My wife all but kicked her off the property. The questions are very invasive. They said they needed the information for demographics. I call BS. You know, at some point down the line, that it is all about taxes
