The only reason I don't kiss my chickens (very tempting sometimes on the very cute chickens!) is because I researched that chickens are not resistant to the numerous bacteria in human saliva so I am conscious of not feeding anything to the chickens that has been bitten/eaten/kissed/or spit by humans. After eating we also wash our hands and also prior to and after handling chickens or their feed. Correct me if I'm wrong but it was something I researched a couple years ago.

This is the very reason I could NEVER kiss a chicken.
Mine are constantly after the dog doo.....oh yes, and then WE eat the eggs ! YUM !!!!!

I have always said: All ya gotta do is feed your cat; then the cat burries his/her doo, the dog digs it up & eats it, and he/she poos, then the chickens eat that, and then we eat the chicken eggs, pure & simple: just feed your cat !

Yes. If I come outside with a glass, and sit down, she won't leave me alone! I don't know how hard it is to get a chicken drunk.
My Mom & dad, when I was a teen, would gather at cocktail hour & my birds would come running. Apparently, Rose Pierre and his ladies LOVED the olives in the martinis...and it got to be a fun thing to get my birdies tipsy...course I was just a kid & did not recall this.....at the time, LOL

LOL I've been asking the same question! Granted I hate the summers that are 90+ everyday and too hot to do anything, but we have had a really cool summer so far.
It has been extroidinarily hot & dry here, I think our last "decent' rain was in April ???
We are tender, crackley dry, Scarey Dry with all this "fuel".....our woods are so thick, it is hard to walk through !!
Scarey dry & 107 today in the shade on the S facing porch...hopefully this kills the AI virus !
