Just wondering opinions on using the automatic turner in my Genesis 1588 with shipped eggs. From what I've read after leaving them sit upright for 48-72 hours you can turn them keeping them in the upright position. Has anyone used the automatic turner with success in these cases? Or is it better to leave them in the cardboard carton throughout and hand turn them?

I've done both and don't think it matters. In the carton you can just put something like a thick book under one end and switch it to the other end a couple times a day.
The turner is easier, especially for forgetful people like me.
