My Turkey and my bantam are currently sitting on a total of 10 eggs. I started out with more of course but my numbers have dwindled drastically. I have a couple of eggs that have detached air cells. Both chicks seem to be developing fine, however one of the air cells when laid on its side takes up almost the entire half of the egg. My question is, what are the odds of them hatching without any problems? I don't have an incubator available to place them upright for hatching. I don't want to continue having them sit on them if the chick can't make it through the hatching process. Btw, these eggs came from my buffs and were not shipped to me.

This is my first time letting them sit, and yes I'm finding out very quickly that they will naturally cull out the bad eggs. My Turkey seems to have the sense of a bloodhound when it comes to sniffing out bad eggs. That's actually how I've lost most of my eggs is by her crushing them. I candle then every few days and mark them "?" If I'm unsure. It never fails that the ones in question are always the ones that she culls out. I've only lost one good egg so far. It was on day 17 and one of my otherr hens pecked at it and it eventually cracked beyond repair and the membranes were ruptured. This has definitely been a learning experience for both the hens and myself.
