My new children came from a hatchery where the have a 97% sexing rate of accuracy. But I am still wondering if they are all hens.

At what age can I determine the correct sex and how do I do it?

I'm only familiar with Orpingtons & Wyandottes... but in general your just going to have to wait AT LEAST 2-3 weeks.. and in some cases at 6 weeks you could still be questioning it.

I would just happily proceed as if they are all girls...

what I look for:
thicker legs & toes on boys
wattles start to develop around 3 weeks...
mock crowing

Thanks, Dawn! You just eased my mind. I got two straight run Buff Orpington chicks on Valentine's Day (hatched 1/28).

From your description, sounds like they're most likely the lovely ladies we hope they are!

I got my girls from Ideal and Momma, one of EE's is a roo.... yes and I am going to keep "his" name momma!
