I have read a ton of posts about this. I really think if you post on here questioning the sex of your turkey you should come back once the turkey is of age to definitely know and say what the sex ended up being. This is a 50/50 chance that people's educated guesses are correct. It would be interesting to know the answer and what reasoning in determining rang true. I am supposed to have all females but I am unsure about a couple of them they are BBW and only 7 weeks and I really need to know before 5 weeks from now if my suspicions are correct. And knowing what sex past posts ended up being would be helpful to many with the same question. Just a thought.

Very true. Can you show pics of your turkeys?

his head gets very red compared to the others. Not to mention he is bigger.

The one with the long snood looks like a tom. In a tom the snood will change in length depending on his mood. He may begin to show off his tail fan also.

Hens have feathers up the back of their heads and toms don't. Usually toms have a bigger snood and bigger feet and legs and are generally bigger, all around being the same age, but at this young age it is difficult from pictures. I have hens with beards, too, but not as long as those of the same age toms. I can always tell from the head feathers first. Hope this info helps!
