determining which chicks to give away

In NY you have to buy 6 chicks (I know some people get around it by paying for 6 and taking less, but I didn't do that), but being a small family, in a small yard, I think 4 hens will be a good number for us, so i have a friend I'm giving the other two to when they are a couple months old (a couple weeks from now). She has chickens of her own (for eggs and meat) so she's well prepared. For her they are very utilitarian/food providers, but for us they are pets too.
I'm having trouble deciding which two to give her... I have two "favorites" who I'll keep for sure, but how do I pick who to get rid of? Should I pick the two that are the most aloof/skittish? One skittish and one more friendly? Should I give the one who seems to be settling into top girl spot or keep her? Or should I just randomly grab two when the time comes?

You have time to decide, and personally I'd vote to keep them all if you have the space. It's going to be months before any eggs arrive, and who knows how they will mature? Don't be in a hurry to send any away. Mary

Thanks Mary... I have sort of been thinking about it, but I don't know. I guess I'll just give it a couple more weeks and see how I'm feeling about it then...
