deterring pest

In trying to male my coop and run more secure I had read that loss noises can keep raccoons away. has anyone had success using windchimes to keep pests away?

I have 4 Music of the Spheres windchimes of different octaves and the coons come into the yard regardless. A radio playing will work for a while, but after time the coons get conditioned to it and return. Hope you find something that works.
