Are you sure they weren't overweight in the first place? Chickens aren't exactly supposed to be filled with chunky blobs of fat and egg layers are far from meaty...

Haha aww that's made me chuckle - they are definitely underweight as their breastbones are prominent they were a 1.5 underweight than the average layer

Pardon my ignorance but is free ranging eating grass etc? Then no as there's a lot of soil in my garden and they just eat earth worms from there..

Try them on a high protein layer mash. Keep the table scraps up to them. I boil pasta, drain and add raw eggs and sardines in olive oil, they love it. The wormer you should research , contain albendazole or fenbendazole . Depending on how it was administered, they may not have had the correct dosage.
