Development??

i have an interesting question (well I think it’s interesting). Has anyone ever had a chicken who was externally maturing quickly, as in feathers and wattles, but body size, digestive system, and vocals were developing extremely slowly?
I think I may have a couple of birds like that and I would think it’s because they are mixes of at least 7 different breeds each.

All breeds develop different rates and different ways. Some develop cones and waddles faster and take longer for the body and some of them vice versa. What breeds do you have. Can you post some pics

Leghorns grow combs fast. And big. They don’t grow very large though. You can post a pic. See if she looks as she should

Ok, I took some photos, they’re not very good. These birds don’t get that photos are best taken in the light not the shade. Based off of what I can tell they both have white leghorn or some other white egg laying breed in them cuz of marbles white and red earlobes, Brownie definitely has some EE, polish, and probably speckled Sussex in there somewhere. Butterscotch is pretty sure has a lot of old English game in her/him. My guess is they are about four months but didn’t stop eating chick feed officially till a few weeks ago. I probably could’ve taken them off it after 2 weeks of having them. I got them on June 13. My guesstimate is that when I got them they were 8-12 weeks old and peeping everywhere, but they were already fully feathered.
