3:53am Est Hi I live in Rhode Island. We just finished coop and I believe I have enough ventilation, but I have questions
Coop is 4x8. There’s full ventilation on front at very top as well as the back and eaves.
I have 4 Ladies in coop. Plenty of windows that are closed for night
Currently it’s 58• dew point 57 with 99% humidity.
I had read if Windows are fogged than there isn’t enough ventilation.
Well the Windows have dew on them, but so does my car
windows. Is this fogging or dew caused by the dew point and humidity or does it mean my ventilation isn’t sufficient?
If it’s caused by weather conditions than what signs do I look for for insufficient ventilation?
Thank you
Photo taken before finished
Behind shutters on top ridge is all ventilation. The back eave is mess chicken cloth and ventilation strips under ridge of roof, obviously windows won’t be used in winter

I see both chicken wire and HW cloth. If the windows have HW cloth, you could leave them open year round. We do and we are a bit north of you.

99% humidity? I assume that is inside the coop? Do you have an outside humidity as well? I track in the coop and outside to compare. I normally just look for current conditions close to us. If the humidity stays really high, I move the probe to outdoors right next to the coop. That generally is within a few percent of the inside coop humidity. Here are the current conditions in Bristol, RI. 86% at 9AM.

I'm assuming the 99% humidity is the outside reading as my weather system reads 99% every morning do to the dew.
It looks like you've got a good amount of ventilation, and it should be above the birds head while on the roost.

Currently it’s 58• dew point 57 with 99% humidity.
Is that from your local weather report or do you have a temperature and humidity gauge inside your coop? It's highly recommended that you measure both inside the coop.

Condensation on the outside is dew - condensation on the inside means you need more ventilation. Hopefully it is on the outside.
So @BobbieB7, was the moisture on the outside or inside of the coop windows?

Your goal is to have the humidity inside the coop as close as what it is outside the coop.
The soffit boards with the little holes drilled in them should be removed and replaced with 1/2" hardware cloth.
All the chicken wire should be covered in 1/2" HC.
Actually there’s HC stapled onto the underneath board. You can see the HC hanging over. I measured wrong so Board didn’t fit like the back. I need to cut that extra off . Because my good I decided to add holes. I’m doing two more on other end
