deworming with rooster booster triple action multi wormer

Ive read the information on your site about Wayzine. What I need to know is about rooster booster multi triple action multi wormer.
It says to mix with 50 pound bag od food for chickens. I have a place for a 50 pound bag but a 3 pound feeder. how can I be sure that my chickens get the right amount of this item in my chicken feeder?. My chickens are on a dirt run but a cement floor in the hen house. I waven't seen any worms as yet but they are about a year old. Should I go ahead and deworm them as a percaution?
This item says no egg withdrawl. Should I quit giving the eggs for people to eat while using this product as a precaution and how long should I not give the eggs out to be safe

Hygromycin B is the wormer in the Rooster Booster wormer. I understand that it's been around for quite awhile. I've never used it, dont know much about it, dont know the dosage etc...I prefer giving liquid wormers orally rather than mixing them in water or feed. That way you know that your birds got properly dosed.

I just finished using this Rooster Booster found it at Randall Burkey. Did not seem to do anything for my ladies. I am going to follow dawg53's "Worming your chickens - From the Gospel of James" (dawg53 1-2-3). He is on this post, so I am sure he can give you the link or you can get the recipe under another post, "How to use Valbazen".

Will start the Wazine17 today/tomorrow, if the feed store has it in stock.

I might need coaching when it is time to give the Valbazen, dawg53. I am going to try the bread method first but a lot of my girls are picky eaters and I am afraid of squirting it in the wrong opening in their mouth.

A little history on my ladies, they are almost 18 months old and started laying off in March. I lost two before realizing they had cocci. Treated that and they started looking better/acting better but still no eggs. Decided after reading a lot of posts on worms that they most likely have gape worms, doing the extended neck thing and opening their mouths like they cannot swallow and if they have those then they probably have other worms. Wanted to try a class B wormer first so I could still have the few eggs they produce to eat. Done with the Rooster Booster still not egg increase in fact I am only getting one a day now out of 20 hens.

I would not waste your time or money on it, but if you do buy it they have a scoop in it (1 scoop per 1 lb. of feed) you will need a food scale to weigh your feed out and if you use crumble you will need a mortar and pestle because the Rooster Booster comes as a pellet. Good Luck

The ingredients in "rooster booster" are found in most high quality feeds, there is nothing on the label indicating that it will increase egg production. The only advantage I can see is it has the probiotics that most wormers strip from the gut in it, though I would probably give my girls some buttermilk after treatment anyway.

My girls are molting, one is quite off and by process of elimination worming it really the only thing I can try. She is just starting to have her new feathers come in so I don't want to use "Safeguard", When We got the chickens we got "Rooster Booster" in a gift basket I just got it out the question is will hygromycin b kill the worms? I'll hope for the best.

I ended up using Safeguard this go around as the feed store did not carry Wazine at all and was out of the Valbazen. Although I never saw any worms in their poop they must have needed it. All their feathers are back in they are hardly pecking at each other and their egg production has gone back up. They definitely feel better and look better than before I wormed. Next year I will buy the Wazine and Valbazen on line to rotate wormers. Thanks for all the great info.

Forget the wazine and just use valbazen or safeguard.

Can I rotate between Valbazen and Safeguard every year without the worms building up a immunity? Thanks, I will pass on the Wazine, that will save me a little dough!
